Jazz Camp
Jazz Camp for Brass and Woodwinds | June 16-19 | 1:00-3:00pm | Ages 8-16
Campers will dive into the vibrant world of jazz, explore improvisation, learn classic jazz standards, and develop ensemble skills in a fun and supportive environment. Led by experienced teachers, this camp offers hands-on activities tailored to musicians eager to expand their musical horizons. Whether you're learning to experiment on a saxophone solo or grooving on trumpet, this camp is the perfect way to grow your skills and learn the basics of Jazz, even if you've never played it before! Featuring both pop and jazz music, music games, and activities that encourage collaboration. Materials are included with registration. Students should bring their instrument with them to participate in camp.
For students ages 8-16, who play any Brass or Woodwind instrument and have one year of experience or more. Space is limited.
Teachers:
Zach Robarge - Zach has a masters degree in saxophone performance and music education. He has 10 year of experience teaching all woodwind instruments at varying ability levels. Zach is also a student at CIOMIT, learning to repair and maintain woodwind instruments! Teaching is a cornerstone of his music career and he considers himself lucky to be a music teacher. His hobbies include hiking, and playing games.
Ian Peratt - Ian has a degree in trumpet and jazz theory, specializing in jazz improvisation. He has played for 11 years in many different bands and styles. Ian wants to be able to help students love music the way he does. His hobbies include concerts, skateboarding, camping, and mountain biking.
